Memories of a lost lover

A lil something something that I wrote on the Bart today:

I remember that trembling excitement
Like plams clasp together in that summer heat
And arms wrapped around waist
And the way light reflected eternity in your smile
Sending everlasting butterflies through me
Like infants in the spring
And lovers in their youth
Like the last sodomites, bound in hedonistic joy, before wicked judgement
These are the ways in which I choose to remember you

My distant lover.

  1. The fluidity of your biblical allusions is stunning. The vivid picture you paint lends itself to the clarity of Audre Lorde and the eloquence of Langston Hughes. Kudos to you, the poet.

    XOXO
